Carrickfergus CastleCarrickfergus Castle is on the Marine Highway.  It dominates the town's skyline and is Ireland's oldest and best preserved Norman Castle.  It was built in the 12th Century by John de Courcy, it saw active use right up until after the First World War.

It is open all year.  There is an admission charge with guided tours.  There is also a shop.
