Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge PDF Print E-mail

Carrick-a-redeCarrick-a-rede on the north Antrim coast of Northern Irelan is a small island linked to the mainland by a rope bridge erected every summer for the salmon fishing season.  The Atlantic waves roll in far below the swaying bridge - not for the faint hearted!

Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge is approximately half a mile from Ballintoy.  Enjoy the challenge of crossing the precarious Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge which crosses a 24 metre deep and 18 metre wide chasm which gives access to a salmon fishery.  There are stunning views over the sea to the Scottish Coast.  There are Coastal walks along the limestone headland.

There is a tea room and information point.

There is a free carpark and a charge per person to cross the rope bridge.
